Gabions columns for the garden
Using gabion columns as unique design elements
Gabion columns can be used as decorative garden elements or as an elegant alternative to conventional fence posts. Either way, they are real eye-catchers and offer a large variety of design possibilities. The stone columns are available in two different shapes: round and rectangular. Delivered in one piece, the columns can be installed quickly and easily, then filled with any of a wide range of materials.
When it comes to filling the round and rectangular gabion columns, there are many creative options. You can fill them with natural stones in different sizes or colors and create beautiful patterns. In addition to natural stones, other filling materials for gabions like wood, clay tiles or glass rocks are also possible. With integrated lightning elements like spotlights or light strings the gabion columns can be illuminated. Plant lovers even have the opportunity to add a little green to their gabions: The wire mesh of the columns makes an excellent growing aid for roses, clematis plants, ivy and other climbing plants.
Stone columns: Delivery and construction
All wireframe parts of the gabion columns are galvanised. Thanks to this, the columns are particularly durable and well protected against corrosion. Each column is supplied in one piece without cover and bottom and closed at the side with a mounting spiral. The covers for the aectangular models are available upon request. Building up the wire columns is very easy and can be managed without special tools.
The sturdy and imposing gabion columns come with a mesh size of 5 x 10 cm and made of spot-welded 5 mm-thick wire and therefore extremely stable. The wire has a galvanic coating for strong protection against corrosion.
To guarantee the stability of the gabions, we recommend the use of a fence post, whose height should be at least two thirds the height of the column. After installing the fence post, the gabion column can be placed over it and filled with natural stones and other materials.
